Report Writer: save, run, and export a custom report
Last verified 2026-07-23
Where: Reports → Report Writer
The Report Writer extends the same canonical metric registry as the curated catalog. It never accepts raw SQL, arbitrary columns, or a browser-supplied query fragment.
Create a definition
- Choose only the metrics your role can use.
- Choose total, Kampaign, Seat, or an available opportunity-field grouping.
- Set an authorized workspace, customer, Seat, and optional Kampaign scope.
- Choose a bounded date range and an approved sort.
- Name the report, review the exact scope, and save it.
Saved reports and versions
Each saved report keeps a schema version, revision, ownership, scope, and timestamps. Editing uses the current revision so one tab cannot silently overwrite a newer change. A definition created by a newer product version remains preserved but cannot run, export, or be changed here.
Run, understand, and export
- The result shows exact scope, grouping, date range, sort, revision, freshness, and provenance.
- Long grouped results use bounded server pagination.
- CSV export runs from the same saved definition, revision, authorization, and canonical result as the screen.
- If no rows match, narrow or change the definition instead of treating an empty result as an error.
Report creation, editing, deletion, and durable exports are blocked while support is viewing a workspace. Client users use their authorized portal reports.
